Why HIFU and RF Microneedling are better together

Ageing is, of course, a natural part of life. But it doesn't need to get us down! When fine lines and wrinkles appear, they’re often accompanied by skin laxity, but all of these skin ageing concerns can be remedied with Focus Dual® and its combined treatment technologies - Radio Frequency Microneedling and HIFU.

Lynton Laser's team of experts have created this device with the intention of lifting, firming and tightening the skin at every layer and that’s precisely what it does! Read on to learn more about what HIFU and radiofrequency (RF) microneedling are and why they are better together.

What Is HIFU?

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound and this technology has the ability to reach the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS). This is one of the deepest layers of the skin and it was previously only accessible via surgery. This is the main reason why HIFU treatments have become known as the ‘non-surgical facelift’ in recent years.

This aspect of Focus Dual® sessions involves the precise application of ultrasound energy, which stimulates the production of new, healthy collagen fibres. The result is natural-looking, firmer skin, which continues to improve over time. HIFU treatments are ideal for those looking to improve their skin when formerly tight and youthful complexions start to be replaced by lax, dull ones.

And What About RF Microneedling?

RF microneedling also helps the body to create new collagen fibres and it does this through the creation of channels of microtrauma, induced by incredibly fine needles of only 0.16mm in diameter. This encourages the skin to become stronger, whilst helping with both skin laxity and fine lines and wrinkles.

Many patients worry that this aspect of their treatment might result in pain or blood loss but, thanks to the needles used, RF microneedling causes minimal discomfort. I'm able to customise this element of treatment based on your needs. I have the option to choose 10 or 25-pin needle tips for use on small or large areas and I can also choose between insulated and non-insulated needles.
