Dermalux Flex – LED light skin treatment that’s out of this world!
One of the next treatments I’ll be launching at my skin clinic in Needham Market is the amazing Dermalux Flex LED light therapy system.
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I’m so excited to be able to bring this technology to my clients; it’s the brand new, state of the art LED system that's going to be a massive hit with people who want to rejuvenate their skin and treat a whole range of skin conditions gently and effectively.
Flex is a lovely treatment – it can be used on facial skin as well as skin on the body, making it a great standalone treatment as well as something that I’ll be more than happy to add on to professional facial treatments for an extra boost. It’s great for soothing irritated skin and calming down conditions like rosacea and if you have any skin concerns, I can design you a bespoke treatment plan to include Flex.
So what is it?
Well, Light-Emitting Diodes (LED) aren’t new; they are used for many things including TV and lighting and they have been for a long time. LED treatments have been a beauty industry favourite for some time - as soon as they realised that LED could help nurture skin’s health and improve wellbeing, beauty industry experts found a way to incorporate them into beauty treatments, and treatments like Dermalux evolved.
The fact that LED treatments are non-invasive makes them really popular; there’s no skin contact at all and a treatment can have amazing effects in very short amounts of time.
How does it work?
LED light is seriously clever – biologists have found that cells exposed to it grow 150 to 200% faster, speeding up healing processes.
Experiments were carried out on the Space Station, and when scientists saw that LED light had such a positive effect on plant cells, it was only a matter of time before it was adapted for use on people – and in aesthetic treatments. LED
gives you a gentle treatment that doesn’t have adverse effects – it’s not going to make your skin sensitive to light and it’s completely pain-free.
Unlike UV light, it’s not linked to cancer so there’s no cause for concern there. The skin simply absorbs the beneficial light and converts it to energy, which is what boosts the skin cells’ turnover rate.
A Flex treatment uses a combination of light wavelengths to boost the production of collagen in your skin, which gives it extra elasticity and makes it look and feel younger.
Many people notice great results straight away. A series of sessions with Dermalux Flex is designed to be a lovely, relaxing experience that should result in gorgeously radiant, rejuvenated and healthier-looking skin.
Other positive effects of LED light can include stimulation of vitamin D and serotonin production – so it’s a feel-good treatment all round. Controlled levels of Red, Blue and NearInfrared light, the sort of light that you get from a Dermalux Flex treatment, are clinically proven to be beneficial. In fact, studies have shown around 90% of light therapy users say
that their skin tone, is improved, and their skin is smoother in the areas that have been treated.
